Overview

BPC-157 is a stable synthetic peptide of 15 amino acids, originally identified as a fragment of a protein found in human gastric juice. It is one of the most heavily studied "regenerative" research peptides, appearing in a large body of rodent literature examining connective tissue, gastrointestinal, and vascular endpoints. Human clinical data remain limited.

How it’s studied to work

Preclinical work associates BPC-157 with upregulation of growth-factor signalling (notably the VEGFR2–Akt–eNOS pathway) and modulation of nitric-oxide systems, which researchers link to angiogenesis and the recruitment of reparative cells. The exact receptor target is not fully established.
