Overview

KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Unlike the parent hormone it lacks pigmentary activity, and research focuses on its reported anti-inflammatory properties in gastrointestinal and dermatological models.

How it’s studied to work

KPV is studied for its ability to enter cells and interfere with pro-inflammatory signalling (including NF-κB and pro-inflammatory cytokine pathways), independent of melanocortin-receptor pigmentation effects.
